Can anyone tell me if I'm right in believing that Guy Pearce was in 'Flying Doctors' after he left Neighbours? Bigpinkthing 12:38, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Nationality
[edit]If Pearce was born in the United Kingdom, then he is a British Citizen, automatically, under British Citizenship laws. This will be despite his identification and probable second nationality as Australian. This means Pearce will have dual citizenship. The only way that this wouldn't be the case is if the actor specifically officially renounced his British Citizenship. 96.10.108.74 (talk) 14:32, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- For reasons no-one fully understands, a celebrity (past, present or future) carrying out the simple action of checking in to a flight to Australia is the catalyst for Wikipedia to renounce any hint of British nationality and declare that celebrity an Aussie (bizarrely with the exception of the Bee Gees). See AC/DC for a prime example. Being impartial for a moment, it's one of those daft things that is best ignored - nationality and citizenship both mean different things to different people and anyone reading the article should be able to make up their mind what his nationality is according to their preferred definition. If not then the article is flawed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.135.253 (talk) 22:41, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- See MOS:CONTEXTBIO for how people are described in the intro. What is important is where his notable activities occurred. He did nothing notable in the UK in the 8 years he lived there as a child. Geraldo Perez (talk) 02:30, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
